Project Pearls

We’ve collaborated with Project Pearls to film and produce a promotional video for them to let potential sponsors, volunteers and viewers know what Project Pearls does. They mainly do feeding programs for 200-250 children a day, but they also sponsor students in school and offer tutoring to those who need help. Project Pearls has also built a clinic for the community for minor medical help.

We filmed this with Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 6D, 24-105 and 70-200 lens; DJI Osmo and DJI Phantom 3 Pro.

Admittedly, I’ve never been to Tondo even if we’ve been based here since 2014. It’s one of the most depressing places I’ve been, kids are malnourished and they basically live, breathe and eat in a garbage dump site. Their life is literally in garbage. But despite this, they still manage to smile and be friendly with us.

I am always amazed at the Filipino resilience despite their predicament. They still manage to crack jokes, say “hi” to us and even their lives are rough. The smile is always there.

I am glad we met Project Pearls (Melissa, Monica and Sidney, thanks!), they’ve showed us the brilliant characters in the community despite the gnarly side of Manila. Donate 20USD or 1000 Php and help a family this Christmas!
